Things You Need:

- Any version of Photoshop.
- The images you want to use ready. I prefer using sobi.org or deviantART.
- Brushes, if you would like them. There are many good brush sets on deviantART.
- Textures, unless you want your image to have a more natural look, or a tone, like sepia. You can get great textures from swimchick.net.

Step One

Create a new file. An ideal size for banners on here is 700 by 300, in my opinion, but using a bigger or smaller size is just fine.

Step Two

Copy / paste the photos you picked out into the banner file. You can paste them by pushing CTRL and V at the same time, or you can go to Edit>Paste. I will be using 3 images in this. Also, make sure every picture is on a different layer.

Step Three

Align and adjust the images to your liking. I have hidden one of the pictures so that you can see that I have them in the banner file.

Step Four

Erase the edges until it looks like the image is blended. Make sure to use a soft brush. If you are wondering how I got the white cat to fade into the picture, I had erased everything around it and set it on multiply.

Step Five

Get a texture from swimchick.net and put it over all of the layers. Set it on whatever mode you think fits your banner, multiply and overlay usually work out the best. I used two textures on mine.

And you're done!

Thanks for using this tutorial. Please do not steal the banners that I made in the process of it, I won't be too happy if I figure out you've stolen something from me. Also, feel free to post comments, concerns, and questions if you have any.

Yep. Gimp is just as good as Photoshop. If you don't have photoshop, I think it's the closest thing you will get to it. (:. Do you find this valuable?
