The Knight of the Protector's Heart [Tom's]

Naturemelody sat across the leaders den, her head upon her paws and ears flickered back alert. Her guarded expression proved that the she-cat took her job very seriously. Because of this she never had any friends, nor anyone to love. Her family died when she was little and she always wanted to keep guard of someone something she loved. She loved Earthclan and therefore she would protect it with her life. Her guarded eyes rested upon the leaders den. Suddenly a group of warriors passed by their tails flickering with delight at the snobby comments they pinned towards her. "What a weird cat." "ya, i heard she has no friends." "i heard she drives everyone away." "My mother told me that if you look into her eyes you will turn to stone." "what a wired cat." the huddled together passing her as one of them let out a short laugh of humiliation to Naturemelody who's eyes snapped from the leaders den towards them as she hissed a bit. They could never understand the true pain in her heart at hearing these words.

Stormhowl's blue gaze watched the group of warriors. "How kit-like." He meowed calmly, and looked at Naturemelody. She didn't seem so bad, just well guarded. He stood up and walked over, a small smile on his furry grey face. "Hello." He greeted softly. He was here a while now, long enough for his brother to become a warrior. He knew many of the cats in the clan, but none of them seemed as lonely as this cat. He figured she needed a good friend to listen to her problems. He was willing to fill the position. He himself had been quite bored with his normal routine.

Naturemelody felt her fur prickle with unease at the sense of kindness in the tom cat's voice. Her eyes narrowed to his, was he here to make fun of her? She nodded her head out of respect and nothing more trying to revert her eyes back to the leaders den.

Stormhowl glanced at the leader's den quickly, then reverted his eyes back to her. "So... You are a Earth Protector?" He asked casually, sitting down near her, but not too close.

Blackenedpaw stalked up, growling and looking angry. The Guardian Apprentice wanted to teach those bullies a lesson. "Hey" He meowed in a friendly voice, smiling at both Naturemelody and Stormhowl. "Don't tell me they upset you, too?" He asked, seeing the look on the she-cat's face.

Naturemelody nodded her head in response to Stormhowl's comment. "Yes." she meowed her voice chiming in it's own way. Almost like a wind chime swaying in the breeze. Her gaze softened towards Blackenedpaw "It's not worth being upset over."

Stormhowl chuckled. "Don't want to get into too much trouble before you become a warrior, do you?" He mused. "It wouldn't be very wise to pick a fight."

He looked back over at her, holding in a sigh. She was too protective. "Hey, how would you guys like to go for a hunt?" He asked suggestively, looking between Naturemelody and Blackenedpaw. "I'm sure the leader'll be fine for a little while."

"Guardian" He corrected the warrior. "I'm not going to be just /any/ warrior. I'm going to be a Guardian!" He waved his tail proudly. "So that's why I'm coming with you, to practice my stalking" Blackenedpaw dropped into the hunters' crouch and pounced on Stormhowl's tail like a playful kit. "The Guardians will protect the leader! They're amazing!"

Naturemelody let out a sigh, pushing away any resemblance of friends she could have made. "As a guardian, it's my duty to watch over the leader. What if something happened?"

"Other Guardians will protect the leader!" Blackenedpaw sighed. "Any cat would have to get through a whole Camp to get to Glarestar, and then there's Morningstream and Brooksnap, too!"
