"The area around his eyes and on his throat is a creamy color, and his fur is often kept sleek and clean. Now, that still doesn’t tell you who this cat is, and no amount of describing him can change that. Only his name and past will let you know who he is. Eragon is what he goes by and his last name is Shadeslayer. Never one to boast or brag, a humble cat, never seeking power, glory, only wishing to defend those close to him with his life if necessary. But he never was like that before he met who is now his closest friend. It happened so suddenly. He had stumbled across an injured she-cat while hunting for his cousin, Roran, and his uncle, Garrow. Her name was Saphira, and after a while he managed to heal her enough so she could take care of herself. But it turned out that there were more than a few cats that wanted to kill the she-cat. So Eragon kept her hidden from his family, though he was unable to defend them from the wrath of those hunting the she-cat. One day when Eragon went to see Saphira, she attacked him for no reason and, quickly subduing him, she began to drag him away from his home. He struggled, but at the time Saphira was much stronger than him. When he finally managed to get to his home again, his uncle was dead and his cousin out hunting. A short while later Roran returned from hunting but Eragon and Saphira had left. After too much traveling to recount and several fights the pair reached Avalon Everlasting. Half dead from a combination of malnutrition and injuries, Eragon and Saphira were taken in to the group. And they’ve been here ever since. He has become a mystery to other cats, now, not wanting anyone to get hurt because of him and Saphira. The only other cat that understands him, truly, is Saphira.
